Quiet lines, strange little things, and the worlds in between.

Originally from Hong Kong and based in the UK since 2023, I’ve always found myself living and creating somewhere between East and West. Growing up between cultures naturally shaped everything, from my design taste to my sense of humour. I’m drawn to the calm rhythm and airy space of Japanese minimalism, but also to dark, slightly unhinged internet humour. I can spend far too long adjusting a 1mm detail, yet I have a soft spot for scraggly, ugly-cute cats that look a little ridiculous. I guess I’m less drawn to flawless perfection, and more to things with character, quirks, and a small sense of life.

People who’ve just met me might think I’m a quiet person. Not quite. Once we get closer, you’ll probably see how funny I can be. That said, I’ve always been much better at expressing myself through visuals rather than words. So, maybe it’s better to just look at my work. I think you’ll get it without me explaining too much.

Instead of chasing loud, fast, and hard-edged trends, my design leans towards calm, classic, gentle, and bright. Balanced lines and thoughtful white space always make me happy. My work isn’t meant to shout, but I hope it invites people to slow down, look closely, and notice a few little details along the way.

Last but not least, a quick look at my logo. As a branding designer, I can’t really skip this part. Built from straight and diagonal lines, it is an abstract monogram of E, S, and D, short for Eva Siu Design. Looking a little deeper, it also comes from the line structure of Chinese Bagua, an Eastern symbol of change, balance, and flow. This is pretty much EVA SIU: me, my work, and a design language grown somewhere between East and West.
